HAPPINESS

Fill your life with joy, contentment, meaning & satisfaction.

Happy, Joyous & Meaningful Life

Happiness is that state we all aspire to achieve. It is the ultimate goal of our life quests. More than simply a positive mood, happiness is a state of well-being that encompasses living a good life with a sense of meaning and deep satisfaction. Meaning brings fulfillment, and happiness, in a way, is the daily experience of a meaningful life. When we feel it, we describe it as a range of positive emotions, including joy, pride, contentment, and gratitude.

Happiness is a very personal thing, and in a sense, is an ability to accept who we are and how we are living, instead of striving to be someone we can never be. We are often so focused on what we want to change that we don’t pay attention to what to maintain. Accepting our limitations is one door to happiness, and having self-worth is another.

Abundance looks different from each of us, but true abundance comes not from one’s bank account but from a state of mind we enter when we know we are contributing great worth to the world. True abundance is about both, the gold we can hold in our hands and the gold we can become by doing the work that feeds our soul.

Inhale and… Kiss your life. Accept it. Just as it is. Today. Now. So those moments of happiness you’re waiting for don’t pass you by.

Why Cultivate Joy and Happiness?

Happy people are more successful. Numerous studies show that happy individuals are successful across multiple life domains, including marriage, friendship, income, work performance, and health. Happiness leads to success—and yes, even a longer.

Happy people get sick less often. A study from Carnegie Mellon University found that people who are happy are less likely to catch colds, while depressed, nervous or angry people are more likely to complain about cold symptoms.

Happy people have more friends and are more fun to be with. Warm, caring friendships provide a stabilizing support system. Good friends are validating, inspiring and motivational. They boost our sense of purpose and belonging, and countless studies have shown that strong social bonds are key to a well-lived life. Not surprisingly, happy people have more friends because they are stable, giving, and supportive.

Happy people donate more to charity. Generosity lights up the pleasure and reward regions of the brain. Science shows that it works both ways: giving to others makes us happier, but happy people also donate more to charity than unhappy people.

Power Animal

Hummingbird is always actively seeking the sweetest nectar, and reminds us to forever seek out the good in life and the beauty in each day. The hummingbird also possesses an unusual hovering pattern and is able to move its wings in a figure of eight pattern, a symbol for infinity. This holds a message for us – often we find ourselves stuck in time, regretting or longing for the past, or hoping that the future will bring better things, building castles in the sky. We are shown how to view the past and then let go, rather than be continuously caught up in it, we learn how to appreciate that the past creates are future, and that even at the time some lessons were harsh and hurtful ones, we wouldn’t be who we are without these lessons today. We need the past to create the future, but mustn’t dwell in it, yet we may reflect on it bur not in a bitter cant-let-go manner. Call upon the Hummingbird and seek out the good in life and the beauty in each day.

A happy person is a helpful person. When you're in a positive emotional state, you're better able to help others in need—family, friends, and even strangers—and better able to make a difference in the world.

Having a positive attitude makes life easier. An optimistic outlook eases pain, sadness, and grief. Bad things don’t stop happening, you just deal with them better when you have a positive outlook.

Happy people are healthy people. “There’s a direct link between how we’re feeling and the biological processes which relate to illness and illness risk,” said Dr. Andrew Steptoe, British Heart Foundation professor of psychology at University College London.

Happy people are more productive and creative. Research by Dr. Barbara Fredrickson and others have shown that people are more creative when they’re experiencing positive emotions. When solving a problem, they come up with more ideas for solutions. People who have positive emotions are also more trusting which allows for more creative and beneficial negotiations.
